...Do not think that Christ has placed His joys on heavenly shelves so we may climb up and retrieve them for ourselves; rather He draws near and sheds His peace abroad in our hearts. Christian, if you are tonight struggling under deep distress, your Father does not give you promises and then leave you to draw them up from the Word like buckets from a well. The promises He has written in the Word He will write afresh on your heart. He will display His love to you and by His blessed Spirit dispel your cares and troubles...

This election could be the most important in our nation’s history, and I believe God can use us—His people—to turn the tide. We must pray fervently, stand on His Word, and vote according to Biblical truth.
I’d like to send you a free copy of the special September issue of Decision magazine: our presidential election guide. In this magazine, we examine the major issues facing our nation today, where the candidates stand, and what God’s Word says. I hope you will request your copy of Decision today—then pray and cast your ballot on Election Day. May God bless America! Franklin Graham ...Be ready, servant of Christ, for your Master comes suddenly, when an ungodly world least expects Him. See to it that you are faithful in His work, for the grave shall soon be prepared for you. Be ready, parents, see to it that your children are brought up in the fear of God, for they will soon be orphans. Be ready, businessmen, make sure that your affairs are in order and that you serve God with all your hearts, for the days of your earthly service will soon be over, and you will be called to give account for the deeds done in the body, whether they are good or bad. May we all prepare for the tribunal of the great King with a care that will be rewarded with the gracious commendation, "Well done, good and faithful servant." "His master said to him,
'Well done, good and faithful slave. You were faithful with a few things, I will put you in charge of many things; enter into the joy of your master.' Matthew 25:21 ...A young lawyer came to Jesus and said to Him, “Jesus, what’s the most important thing to do in life?” and He said, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your mind, all your soul and all your strength. This is the greatest commandment and the second one is just like it – love your neighbour as yourself.”
So on my ‘to do’ list and on your ‘to do’ list, the most important thing – THE most important thing – is to spend some time with Jesus every day and we call that ‘prayer’. And you know, one by one, at this conference, afterwards, these leaders came up to me quietly on the side, and said you know something, “I have such a problem with this. I’m so busy I don’t know what to do.” And it’s a really common problem – it’s not just me; it’s not just you; a lot of people have this problem. How do I find time to pray? Most people know that a regular prayer time, most days, is one of the best things they can do. When I spend that time quietly each morning with God, the peace and the joy and the rest getting ready for the day, I seem to handle things so much better – it works! But we are so busy doing the urgent things; we don’t have time for the important things... Researchers have discovered an ancient illustrated Bible in an Ethiopian monastery, revealing a rich tradition of Christianity in the West African country.
They are called the Garima Gospels, named after a monk who came to Ethiopia in 494 A.D. from Constantinople. Beautifully illustrated, the pages are vivid and well intact. "Many of these old Christian relics can only be reached by hiking and climbing to remote monasteries as roads are limited in these mountainous region," the researchers told Naij.com. "The Garima Gospels have been kept high and dry, which has helped preserve them all these years and they are kept in the dark, so the colors look fresh." Scientists say the ancient text dates back some 800 years before the King James Version, making it one of the oldest copies of the Bible. The book was most likely written by a monk named Garima sometime around 350-650 A.D... Consider God's Mightiness Alistair Begg Truth for Life ...The bands of Orion He looses, and He binds the sweet influences of the Pleiades. Earth, sea, and air and the places under the earth are the barracks for Jehovah's great armies; space is His camping ground, light is His banner, and flame is His sword. When He goes forth to war, famine ravages the land, pestilence smites the nations, hurricane sweeps the sea, tornado shakes the mountains, and earthquake makes the solid world to tremble...
...Be sure to enlist under His banner, for to war against Him is madness, and to serve Him is glory... Psalm 19 is one of the best daily prayers I’ve ever found. Commit it to memory and use it in your prayers each morning. Just like your daily bath or shower makes you physically clean, praying Psalm 19 makes you spiritually clean. It’s a great way to fulfill 1 John 1:9, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.”
The heavens are telling of the glory of God; And their expanse is declaring the work of His hands. Day to day pours forth speech, And night to night reveals knowledge. There is no speech, nor are there words; Their voice is not heard. Their line has gone out through all the earth, And their utterances to the end of the world. In them He has placed a tent for the sun, Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber; It rejoices as a strong man to run his course. Its rising is from one end of the heavens, And its circuit to the other end of them; And there is nothing hidden from its heat. The law of the Lord is perfect, restoring the soul; The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple. The precepts of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart; The commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes. The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever; The judgments of the Lord are true; they are righteous altogether. They are more desirable than gold, yes, than much fine gold; Sweeter also than honey and the drippings of the honeycomb. Moreover, by them Your servant is warned; In keeping them there is great reward. Who can discern his errors? Acquit me of hidden faults. Also keep back Your servant from presumptuous sins; Let them not rule over me; Then I will be blameless, And I shall be acquitted of great transgression. Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart Be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my rock and my Redeemer. Psalm 19 Garden of Eden Named World Heritage Site Carey Lodge Christian Today A site thought by some to be the location of the Garden of Eden described in the biblical book of Genesis has been named a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Iraq's southern marshlands, the Ahwar of Southern Iraq, are "unique, as one of the world's largest inland delta systems, in an extremely hot and arid environment," Unesco said. The wetlands, which once sprawled across more than 7,000 square miles, are much smaller than they once were. Saddam Hussein drained most of the water in the 1990s for fear they would be used by rebel groups for cover. According to The Atlantic, however, the area has "slowly recovered since" and the new protections offered by UNESCO's announcement will mean that it is preserved for years to come... ...Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi praised UNESCO's descision to protect the marshlands and vowed that Iraqi culture would continue to flourish "despite the destruction and demolition of Iraqi heritage and antiquities by barbaric terrorist gangs..." One of the world’s most respected scientists has said that there is scientific proof that points to the existence of God. According to the Geophilosophical Association of Anthropological and Cultural Studies, scientist Michio Kaku, who is known as one of the developers of the revolutionary String Theory, stated, “I have concluded that we are in a world made by rules created by an intelligence...” “...To me it is clear that we exists in a plan which is governed by rules that were created, shaped by a universal intelligence and not by chance,” he stated... |
