"Human rights activists confirmed that there has been a noticeable increase this month in the number of reported assaults on Christians in prison in Iran.

"Not only are Iran's secret police and Revolutionary Guard subjecting Christians to continuing arrests across Iran, but inside the actual prisons they have stepped up the frequency and intensity of beatings against Christian prisoners. The assaults, which are taking place primarily against converts who lead house churches, are intended to send a message to Christians throughout Iran, says Middle East Concern..."
