" ... I urge Catholics to make reparation by prayer, fasting, and penance for the outrages perpetrated against Our Lord Jesus Christ and against our holy Religion. And may the confident recourse of those who are good before the Throne of the Most High not be divorced from a general awakening of consciences, so that the King of kings may once more reign over nations, societies, families, and the Church."
As California Attorney General, Kamala Harris weaponized the powers of her governmental office to cover up Planned Parenthood's illegal sale of aborted baby body parts and chill our First Amendment rights to speak freely about it.
It's not hard to figure out why. Planned Parenthood and the rest of the abortion industry have been her major political sponsors for almost 15 years. And now they want her to be their extremist Abortion President. I have first-hand experience with Kamala Harris' weaponization of government. In late 2015, in retaliation for CMP's undercover reporting on Planned Parenthood using partial-birth abortions to sell aborted babies and their body parts, AG Harris opened a criminal investigation, not of the traffickers of aborted babies--but of my reporting on it. After a secret meeting with top Planned Parenthood officials implicated in the undercover videos, Kamala Harris ordered a raid on my home by eleven California State officers. Planned Parenthood specifically asked for the undercover footage to be seized. You can review the facts in this video report CMP released previously: In the past 20 years, I have longed for our team to be able to set foot in Libya and minister to persecuted believers there…but the country proved to be nearly impenetrable. Sharing a border with Egypt, Libya is an extreme Muslim stronghold in the North African region, with a very small, minority Christian population totaling approximately 35,000. It is illegal to share the gospel and bring Bibles into the country. If a man wants to marry a Muslim woman, he has to convert to Islam. Christians face death threats, being disowned, physical violence, and other types of persecution. Libya currently ranks in the top three countries where Christians face the most extreme persecution. However, after nearly two decades, we have made connections with Christians in Libya. This month, we hired our first on-the-ground Field Minister in the country, Aseel! Like our Field Ministers in other countries, Aseel will meet with persecuted believers, minister to them, and help them rebuild their lives after persecution. As a part of our hiring process, we asked Aseel about the risks involved with this work. “Aseel, you might end up in prison if your efforts are found out,” one of our Field Ministers said. Aseel replied, “Well, if I end up in prison, that’s because God put me there. I will trust Him.” Then, she shared how, outside of prisons in Libya, Christian activity is heavily monitored. However, inside prisons, there are no such restrictions. Much evangelistic activity in Libya is actually happening inside prisons—so people who are sentenced for crimes unrelated to religion sometimes hear the gospel in prison, come to faith…and, when they are released, share the gospel with those outside. The courage of our Field Ministers amazes us, reminding us of the glory and worth of the God we get to serve. Please pray for Aseel as she begins her ministry this month. She is already working with several persecuted believers, providing them immediate help through Lightning Funds and offering spiritual support. And please pray for the nation of Libya. May Aseel’s efforts have far-reaching effects throughout the entire nation—drawing more and more people to the Lord as we, together, Rescue, Restore, and Rebuild the lives of these persecuted believers.
"The 134-year-old landmark, ... went up in flames in downtown Dallas.
"The historic sanctuary at First Baptist Church Dallas burned Friday evening, July 19. The cause of the blaze is not yet known. The Victorian-style, red brick sanctuary building was erected 1890 and is a recognized Texas Historic Landmark. ... "First Baptist Church Dallas has an indelible history within the Southern Baptist Convention having been pastored by former SBC presidents George W. Truett and W. A. Criswell. Currently led by Robert Jeffress, First Baptist Dallas reported a membership of nearly 16,000 in 2023. "The church currently worships in a state-of-the-art facility, which opened in 2013, adjacent to the historic sanctuary. "Jeffress posted on X Friday night asking for prayers for the church, saying, “We have experienced a fire in the Historic Sanctuary. To our knowledge, no one is hurt or injured, and we thank God for His protection. He is sovereign even in the most difficult times.” ... "“We are grateful that no life has been lost that we know of even though we just had 2,000 children and volunteers on campus for Vacation Bible School earlier in the day,” Jeffress said in a statement to Baptist Press. “As tragic as the loss of this old sanctuary is, we are grateful that the church is not bricks and wood but composed of over 16,000 people who are determined more than ever before to reach the world for the gospel of Christ.” ... "According to a statement from the church, “The Historic Sanctuary was a significant landmark in Downtown Dallas. It was the site of visits from Presidents Woodrow Wilson, Gerald Ford, and George H. W. Bush. President Donald Trump visited the new worship center of the church in 2021.”"
