Prayer Alert, March 12th, 2015
Zubair Masih's body was dumped outside his home in Lahore on Friday, according to Release partners.
Zubair, his mother Ayesha (pictured) and his uncle Arshad were detained after Ayesha's former employer accused her of stealing money and gold from him. She had worked as his maid for several years, before leaving her job last month.
Police tortured Zubair, 20, in front of his mother in custody, to force a confession from her. Ayesha and Arshad were also badly beaten. But she continued to deny all charges.
Soon after Ayesha was released, her son's body appeared outside their home on Friday. Local Christians staged a protest in the Shamsabad area of Lahore on Sunday, blocking a main road and demanding justice for Zubair. (Source: Release partners).
- Please pray that our loving heavenly Father will comfort and heal Ayesha and Arshad. Pray for justice for Zubair. Pray that Pakistan's officials at all levels will do more to protect religious minorities, including Christians, from abuse and discrimination.
- Your prayers and financial gifts mean that persecuted Christians such as Ayesha are able to get the support and legal representation they need. Please pray that God will protect our partners and give them wisdom as they provide this help.
