Christian Convert Missing After Arrest, Release International Prayer Alert









"A recent convert to Christianity from Islam has gone missing after being arrested in western Kenya.

"Hassan Hussein Mohammed, 26, was detained by police on April 30 and has not been seen since. Christian leaders believe he may have been held as a 'terror suspect' as Kenyan police crack down on a growing extremist presence in the nation.

"Hassan, who is from the northern Marsabit area, was on an internship at a mosque in Mogotio and training to be a Muslim leader when he met Christians at a church outreach event – and decided to follow Christ.

"He alleges he was beaten unconscious and threatened by members of the Mogotio mosque when he had admitted that he had become a Christian.

"Two pastors from his church were also detained with Hassan. While they were released after questioning, Hassan's whereabouts are unknown but he is thought still to be in custody."
