"Christians in the Islamic min-state of Brunei face increasing persecution. All churches must register with the government, but such registrations made by Christian churches are often ignored. Those churches that do receive authorization are often monitored and attended by government informants. Christians also face persecution by way of discrimination that keeps them from getting high positions in government. Christians are even prevented from taking in former Muslims who have converted to Christianity."
