These are the chilling words from Boko Haram’s leader, Abubakar Shekau after executing their largest attack to date. This attack at the beginning of January killed as many as 2,000 people.
Since January, Boko Haram has committed countless other acts of terror. In one recent attack, Boko Haram captured Christians in the Nigerian town of Mubi where Boko Haram ordered them to embrace Islam or die.
“The Lord gave many of them the grace to stand strong,” reports an Open Doors co-worker. “Many Christian men and women have been brutally killed. Younger women have been married off. Not one of the 200 churches in the city are left standing.”
These horrific events have greatly affected the lives of our persecuted brothers and sisters in Nigeria.
“My church was attacked and I didn’t know what to do,” shares one pastor. “We were left without a church home, and the people of my church were deeply affected by all that has happened...”
