Unholy Alliance?

2/24/2014

'We are galloping toward a one-world melding of religions, and the ramifications are staggering. Pope Francis has now sent a video message to Word of Faith father Kenneth Copeland, urging a reconciliation between Catholics and Charismatics."

"How can this impossibility be? Could the ears of those once aware of the evils of ecumenicism suddenly be sealing shut? What is even more gobsmackingly painful is the reaction from evangelicals, who seem quite thrilled with this unholy alliance."

At present, we are trying to find the time to watch this lengthy collection of videos, first read about at Biblical Archaeology Society. It should prove to be very interesting.  We want to determine if the recorded history in scripture receives the respect it is due.  We consider The Book of Exodus to be historical account, but not so certain what will be the consensus of this gathering of respected scholars; for it is (and has always been) a method to debunk the true history and favor the secular trend.  We shall see and are looking forward to watching this series. If you have the time to watch and wish to report your findings, please email the webmaster and share your opinion on the matter. Thank you so much for your interest!

The Importance of the Heart

Watch over your heart with all diligence, For from it flow the springs of life. Put away from you a deceitful mouth And put devious speech far from you. Let your eyes look directly ahead And let your gaze be fixed straight in front of you. Watch the path of your feet And all your ways will be established. Do not turn to the right nor to the left; Turn your foot from evil.

Proverbs 4:23-27

Please read our favorite teacher, Adrian Rogers of Love Worth Finding, How to Guard Your Heart, at Bible Study Tools.

Keep Your Heart with All Diligence

"n the Old Testament the word “heart” is used more than 800 times, but more than 200 times it deals with the thought life, the emotions, the wellsprings of life, those things that motivate and mold us. The Bible calls that the heart."

Adrian Rogers calls this the thought life.

The Majesty of the Thought Life

For as he thinks within himself, so he is. He says to you, "Eat and drink!" But his heart is not with you.
Proverbs 23:7

The Thought is the Father of the Deed

" “Sow a thought, reap a deed. Sow a deed, reap a habit. Sow a habit, reap a character. Sow a character, reap a destiny.” "

What Are You Going to Achieve in Life?

Then the LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great on the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
Genesis 6:5

The Mastery of the Thought Life

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.
Romans 12:2

How Am I Going to Guard My Thought Life?

How can a young man keep his way pure? By keeping it according to Your word. With all my heart I have sought You; Do not let me wander from Your commandments. Your word I have treasured in my heart, That I may not sin against You.
Psalm 119:9-11

For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
Hebrews 4:12

The Ministry of the Thought Life

Put away from you a deceitful mouth And put devious speech far from you.
Proverbs 4:24

Let your eyes look directly ahead And let your gaze be fixed straight in front of you.
Proverbs 4:25

Do not turn to the right nor to the left; Turn your foot from evil.
Proverbs 4:27

"If you want to know what is in your heart, just listen to what escapes your mouth. Jesus said, “Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks." As they say in the country, “What’s down in the well comes up in the bucket.” "

"You brood of vipers, how can you, being evil, speak what is good? For the mouth speaks out of that which fills the heart.
Matthew 12:34

Love

"If love is eternal and love is the greatest of the attributes we will share throughout eternity, maybe we'd better start paying more attention in this life to what it truly involves."

Please read Falling in Love?, by Craig L Blomberg, at Bible Study Tools.

If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but do not have love, I have become a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.
If I have the gift of prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge; and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains,
but do not have love, I am nothing.
And if I give all my possessions to feed the poor, and if I surrender my body to be burned,
but do not have love, it profits me nothing.
Love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous;
love does not brag and is not arrogant, does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own,
is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered,does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

Love never fails; but if there are gifts of prophecy, they will be done away;
if there are tongues, they will cease; if there is knowledge, it will be done away.
For we know in part and we prophesy in part;
but when the perfect comes, the partial will be done away.
When I was a child, I used to speak like a child, think like a child, reason like a child;
when I became a man, I did away with childish things.
For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face; now I know in part,
but then I will know fully just as I also have been fully known.

But now faith, hope, love, abide these three; but the greatest of these is love.

1 Corinthians 13

Inspired by Walk Thru the Bible, Quietwalk, at Bible Study Tools.

Bless the LORD, O my soul ! O LORD my God, You are very great; You are clothed with splendor and majesty, Covering Yourself with light as with a cloak, Stretching out heaven like a tent curtain.

Psalm 104:1-2

Sing praise to the LORD, you His godly ones, And give thanks to His holy name. For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for a lifetime; Weeping may last for the night, But a shout of joy comes in the morning.

Psalm 30:4-5

The LORD is the portion of my inheritance and my cup; You support my lot. The lines have fallen to me in pleasant places; Indeed, my heritage is beautiful to me.

Psalm 16:5-6

Great is our Lord and abundant in strength; His understanding is infinite. The LORD supports the afflicted; He brings down the wicked to the ground.

Psalm 147:5-6
