Adrian Rogers is no longer with us, but for me, his voice still rings of truth. In fact, it is his voice, his manner of speaking, that draws me to this Southern Baptist minister. His discourses are of superior quality. More than that, his wisdom guides me, for it cleaves close to the Word of God. Rogers made his decision to enter the ministry in 1950 at the young age of nineteen. He worked for the Lord all of his adult life and did so with earnest adherence to Christian doctrine. His legacy is rich and still speaks to us today. He was fervent in his desire to serve the Lord and in his ministry, which compelled us to do so. With deep understanding about what that means, he helped many to draw closer to Christ. His message rang true, his understanding ran deep, and I feel fortunate to be able to glean from it today.

Following is a list of publications by Adrian Rogers (and his wife):

*Believe in Miracles but Trust in Jesus
*Mastering Your Emotions
*God's Way to Health, Wealth and Wisdom
*The Power of His Presence
*Ten Secrets for a Successful Family
*Unveiling the End Times in Our Time
*The Incredible Power of Kingdom Authority
*What Every Christian Ought to Know
*Standing for Light and Truth
*Adrianisms (posthumous collection of quotes)
*Grace for the Widow (posthumous collection of unpublished material in appendix; book is written by his wife Joyce)

Today, I refer to his powerful teaching about how to identify an apostate. It’s an important study and closely related to the current state of the Church in America. I suggest you study this teaching, in two parts, for a deeper understanding of Roger’s poignant message.

Portrait of an Apostate, Part One
Portrait of an Apostate, Part Two

The Book of Jude is small, but mighty. An Epistle, found in the New Testament, it packs a powerful punch and has been referred to as ‘a handbook for survival.’ Indeed, it helps Christians to identify, manage, and conquer our enemy in the world today, the apostate.

"12 These are the men who are hidden reefs in your love feasts when they feast with you without fear, caring for themselves; cloud without water, carried along by winds; autumn trees without fruit, doubly dead, uprooted; 13 wild waves of the sea, casting up their own shame like foam; wandering stars, for whom the black darkness has been reserved forever." Jude 1:12-13

"A dangerous sunken rock… a deceptive waterless cloud… a dead, fruitless tree… a disturbed, raging sea… a doomed, wandering star…" According to Rogers, this is where the focus should be when you are trying to identify the apostate.

Rogers defines apostate as "not someone in a false cult or just an unbeliever. Those people may be lost, but they are not ‘apostates.’ Apostasy means ‘to fall away from.’ This is someone who has known the truth, then turns his back on and opposes the truth. He has received, then rejected, the truth. An apostate begins to ridicule the truth, then tries to replace the truth."

"Not only do you need to learn how to recognize an apostate, but you also need to know where the great battles are…those areas of truth under attack today."

What is the truth? Adrian outlines the six foundational areas of truth to which Christian doctrine adheres:

1) The virgin birth
2) The full deity of Christ
3) The blood atonement
4) The bodily resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ
5) The second coming of Jesus Christ
6) The Authority of the Word of God

Rogers was an extraordinary man. I say this, because I appreciate the depth of his understanding of the Word of God. As if in testimony, he closes with this compassionate statement. We need to watch for the signs of apostatcy, yes, but also…

"Our hearts should be broken for apostates. How we should pray for them! The more I read the Word of God, the more I’m convinced it’s almost impossible for an apostate to be saved. Having known the truth, they refused, ridiculed, and blasphemed the truth, and many of them stand in the pulpits."

Sage advice, considering recent news of the Church and its fallen leaders.

I have a few bible verses to share with you all, they have helped me along the way throughout my life, and I hope they do the same for you. If you're like me, sometimes you think your prayers are not being answered.  Just remember to TRUST the Lord. After all, he IS the creator, right?

Psalm 115:11 You who fear him, trust in the LORD--he is their help ... ... All you who fear the LORD, trust the LORD! He is your helper and your shield. ... If you fear the LORD, trust the LORD. He is your helper and your shield. ...

Psalm 32:10 Many are the woes of the wicked, but the LORD's ... ... Many sorrows come to the wicked, but unfailing love
surrounds those who trust the LORD. ...

Isaiah 26:4 Trust in the LORD forever, for the LORD, the LORD, is ... Trust in the LORD forever, for the LORD, the LORD, is the Rock eternal. ... Trust the LORD always, because the LORD, the LORD alone, is an everlasting rock. ...

Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on ... ... Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. ... Trust the LORD with all your heart, and do not rely on your own understanding. ...

Psalm 125:1 A song of ascents. Those who trust in the LORD are ... ... [A song for going up to worship.] Those who trust the LORD are like Mount Zion, which can never be shaken. It remains firm forever. ...

TBN's List of Woes
Picture
Do you recognize this picture? This is the headquarters of the mighty TBN, the Trinity Broadcasting Network.  They have satellites up in space and broadcast their message around the world. Paul and Jan Crouch also have twin mansions in multiple locations. Lately and again, trouble has hit the Crouch empire. There have been financial shenanigans, according to a granddaughter.  Above is a link to a list of wrongdoing from the Ross Institute.  Granted it is harsh, for the intent is to gather "information about cults, destructive cults, controversial groups and movements."

The Crouches are not the only Mega Church in trouble.  Creflo Dollar has been arrested for beating his own child.  "The 15-year-old daughter of megachurch pastor Creflo Dollar told authorities her father choked and punched her, and hit her with his shoe during an argument over whether she could go to a party, according to a police report."

God is beginning to clean house!  As with any good father, he starts with his own house first.  The Lord has said, "I will rise up out of my place and then the whole world will know that I am God."  Are you ready to meet the Lord your God?  It is our destiny to do so.  We are all going to die.  It is written in the Word, we are all going to die, and we are all going to meet our glorious Maker!

Now behold, today I am going the way of all the earth, and you know in all your hearts and in all your souls that not one word of all the good words which the Lord your God spoke concerning you has failed; all have been fulfilled for you, not one of them has failed.

The Catholic Church is Dangerous, Outdated, and Should Dissolve.

"The Catholic Church is hammering so many nails into its own coffin that even an outside observer like me is left shaking his head at the ridiculous behavior of its leadership. ...Cardinal Dolan from the New York Archdiocese is embroiled in yet another pedophile priest scandal. Let's look at how [this situation proves] the Catholic Church is on its last legs.

Starting close to home we have Cardinal Dolan's little fiasco. It just came to light he might have been part of a plan to pay off child-molesting priests 20 grand each to leave the priesthood quietly, according to a CNN report.

The alleged reason was to hide the pedophiles' actions and avoid lawsuits by paying them hush money. If it were anyone buy clergy committing these acts my guess is that mass arrests would have already been made..."
