"...Thanks to all of you who raised your voices to advocate for my freedom, I was able to come home and celebrate Thanksgiving and Christmas with my family back on US soil. Because of your support and prayers for me and for my family, I was able to endure and sustain during my time in North Korea..."

Pakistan: Pregnant Christian Stripped and Beaten Unconscious
Release International Prayer Alert
"Release partners are caring for a pregnant Christian from Lahore who was reportedly beaten unconscious for refusing to deny Christ.
"The 26-year-old mother of four from Rana Town was attacked, apparently after resisting a Muslim woman’s attempts to make her convert to Islam..."

Please pray that God will comfort this young mother and her family. Thank God that he ‘heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds’ (Psalm 147:3). Pray that those responsible for this attack would be brought to justice.

Pray that God will protect Release partners as they take a stand against religious intolerance and support persecuted Christians.

Please also pray for the nation of Pakistan as it comes to terms with the attack on the school in Peshawar this week, and especially for all those directly affected by the killings. Pray for an end to religiously and politically motivated violence in Pakistan and for increased tolerance across communities.

"Shortly after dawn on Dec. 1, more than 500 heavily armed Boko Haram militants attacked Damaturu, the capital of Yobe state. The militants overran military checkpoints, set fire to a police base and attacked the public university. VOM workers report that several churches were also raided, and some Christians at the churches are believed to have been seriously injured or killed. VOM workers request prayer for believers throughout Yobe state as well as in Borno and Adamawa states, where Christians face daily attacks."

Asia Bibi's Lawyer Urges for International Pressure for Release of Asia Bibi

by Web Desk
at Christians in Pakistan
"Naeem Shakir, human-rights lawyer who is Asia Bibi’s defence counsel has strongly denounced the blasphemy law under which Asia has been sentenced to death. According to him the law is being used as the “tool of oppression.” Naeem Shakir, urged the international community to pressurize the Pakistani authorities to reform the law..."

“"...Political actors are not concerned . . . to deliver justice. . . . They do not want to distress their constituencies by disturbing the religious extremists. There was now,” he said, “a wrong public impression, created by vested interests, that this law is . . . divinely mandated”, whereas it had been “framed by earthly men” and did a disservice to Islam, undermining the “basic principles of Islamic jurisprudence”. As a man-made law, it was “not static”, and could be reformed. “This law is flawed. This law is against the Qur’an and a tool of oppression...'”

Pastor Killed, Family Needs Support

by Lindsay Steele
Mission Network News
"...Several months ago, the evangelical church near Luhansk, where Sergei [Reuta] served as a pastor, was taken over by the separatists, and all the church members were forced to leave the area. Sergei’s own house was also occupied by the separatists. He was warned that if he stayed, he would be executed..."

"...Last week as Sergei was on his way to visit and pray with wounded soldiers, he was killed when a shell hit his car.

"Sergei’s wife and three children have no means to support themselves, and they need our help..."

"...Please pray for Pastor Sergei’s widow, Lena, and his children."
