Please Pray for Those Held Prisoner in Eritrea and Iran

Please Read This Prayer Alert
From Release International

Holy Father,

We thank You for all of our blessings, which are sometimes hidden by our own suffering and the suffering of others. We pray that You will help us to remember to give thanks to You each and every day for we are fortunate to receive Your lovingkindness and Your mercy.

We come to You to ask for Your divine protection for persecuted Christians around the world. Today, there are two groups at risk. Please guard the 185 Christians in Eritrea who have been arrested for meeting to worship. These servants had gathered to pray about the high numbers of Christians fleeing their country where persecution is so great. We pray for the quick release of the prisoners for Christ, and the release of an estimated 1,500 Christians who are imprisoned and suffer because of their faith in Eritrea. We pray for the president, Isaias Afewerki, that he will open his ears and listen to those who pressure him for the reform of abusive policies. We pray for the undoing of repression in this country. We pray that the bans on all churches that are not Orthodox, Catholic, or Lutheran are also lifted.

We pray that You also watch over six Christians in Iran, including a young man of 17 years old. These have lost an appeal fighting a conviction for gathering in house churches. The collective sentencing totals 20 years in jail. Please bring hope and uplifted spirits to those being held in Adel Abad prison in Shiraz. We ask that You help them to know the peace of Your love. We pray that they know You are always present, eternally there for all who suffer in the name of Jesus, Your Son. And last, we pray for the strengthening and growth of Your Underground Church. May Your Will Be Done.

Women throughout the world face challenges that are incomprehensible for many of us. Some walk many hours every day just to get water for their families. Others spend their nights hiding from bomb attacks in caves with their children. Many suffer repeated physical and emotional abuse with few opportunities to receive help. They often don’t even know the unconditional love and eternal salvation available to them through Jesus Christ. These women need our prayers. Thank you for taking the time to learn how to pray for seven women around the world and others in similar circumstances. We invite God’s mercy as we join together in praise and petitions to the One who is faithful to meet every need."

Please Pray for Villagers in Burma

"Your prayers are needed for Christians in Burma. Vision Beyond Borders
says an assistant pastor in the Kachin state has been killed by Burma's army. In
the same village, a reverend and seven others were tortured inside a church.
According to Vision Beyond Borders' contact, over 50 people are still being held
captive in the village today."

Father,

We thank You for every blessing today.

It is difficult to understand this suffering all around the world. Please lift our spirits so we may continue in strength and offer prayer for persecuted Christians everywhere, every day. Today, the focus is upon the villagers in the Kachin state of Burma. Please, we ask that You comfort the family and congregation of the pastor who has been killed by Burma's army. Please protect the villagers still being held captive. May Your Will Be Done as Your Underground Church is strengthened and grows around the world. Please set our people free. We Pray no more harm comes. We pray for understanding. We thank You for the incredible gift of life that You give to all who believe in You.

Our Father,

We thank you for all of our blessings, great and small. Today, we come to you to pray for protection for Pastor Saed, his wife Nadia and their children. We pray that they will choose to stay in Egypt and do Your good work toward reconciliation with their Muslim neighbors. We pray for peace for all of our brothers and sisters in Egypt. We pray that these attacks upon them cease, according to Your will. We pray for an end to the terrible violence against Christians worldwide. We pray for understanding and for many blessings to visit Your Underground Church. Finally, we pray for the success of this prayer to appeal for Christians in Minya, who have lost everything in the recent violence.

In the name of Your Son, Jesus, we pray.
